In 2011, Urahutia Productions along with the Sheraton Kaua‘i Resort began a journey to create an authentic, memorable experience for our guests.
To create this experience, we have brought together some of Kaua‘i’s most talented performers that pride themselves in our Polynesian culture and are committed to educating through entertainment.
At ‘Auli‘i Lū‘au you will find generations of ‘ohana. Husbands and wives, singing and dancing alongside their children. Brothers and sisters, sharing cultural demonstrations. Grandmother and grandchildren creating crafts for souvenirs.
In all aspects of your experience you will learn about the culture and lifestyles of our Polynesian ancestors.
Our greatest hope is that our guests leave us with a better understanding of our Polynesian history and an appreciation of our culture. But most importantly, leaving this experience with a sense of what Aloha truly means to us.
URAHUTIA PRODUCTIONS
Urahutia Productions is a Native Hawaiian, wahine-owned, family business that began in 1998 in the small Hawaiian homestead village of Anahola, Kaua‘i. Mi Nei grew up as the fifth of eight children to Peter & Leiola Oliver. After years of Polynesian dancing Mi Nei grew a love for Tahitian Dance which began her journey to spending many years of training in Tahiti.
At the age of 18, Mi Nei became the first foreigner to earn a Tahitian Dance diploma from world-famous Louise Kimitete, Professor of Conservatoire Artistique Territorial of Papeete, Tahiti. She returned home to Kaua‘i and created Urahutia Productions by offering Tahitian dance classes in 1998.
Throughout the past 25 years of teaching within the community, Urahutia has evolved into a Polynesian entertainment company. Urahutia's entertainment history includes producing lūʻau shows at Princeville Resort from 2000-2008, St. Regis Princeville Resort from 2010-2018 and currently Sheraton Poipu since 2011. We have enjoyed entertaining for many private and community events, as well as traveling internationally to share our culture.
Today all aspects of Urahutia Productions is operated by Mi Nei and her immediate ‘ohana. From the office, behind the scenes, to the stage and the final production you will find her husband & children, her sisters & their children as well as the matriarch of them all.
